10 Step Guide to using your own car for the driving test
When you book in with Cartesthire.ie you can relax knowing that your vehicle is fully compliant and ready to go. On the rare occasion that we may not have availability for the date and time of your driving test, and you have the option to use your own car here’s some helpful information that you should know.
1: Your tyres must be above the minimum tread depth of 1.6mm.
2: Your tyres must be free from bulges, tears or uneven wear and inflated to the correct pressure.
3: Remove all unnecessary contents and objects from the vehicle.
4: Your windscreen must be completely clean and have no cracks or damage.
5: Your windscreen wipers and washer fluid must be working and topped up.
6: No warning lights should be active.
7: Check all vehicle lights are working including the brake and indicator lights.
- Check that all the internal components such as the safety belts, doors and head restraints are working correctly.
9: Your vehicle is regarded as an enclosed workspace so it must be smoke free.
10: Ensure that both the inside and outside of the vehicle are in good condition and free from dirt or dust.
