Driving Lessons Made Simple

Why choose us?

Learning to drive is a big step in life towards your freedom and independence. Although it should be challenging it should also be a rewarding experience and achievement. In life we are not all the same in fact most of us require different approaches to learning. We are professionally trained to identify and adapt to the learning style that will work best for you.

Quality not Quantity.

The most effective driving lessons are the ones delivered in a relaxed and supportive environment. A number of trainers within the industry are overworked with multiple clients, which unfortunately does not lead to a good learner driver experience. Our goal is to build your confidence, develop your driving skills and get you test ready. To make sure we do, we work with a small number of clients and offer structured availability for driving lessons.

World Class Customer Care.

Our job is to make you feel welcome, to turn your driving lessons into an enjoyable learner journey. Talk to us. We look forward to working with you.

Get Started

To start your lessons with a driving school you must have a valid learner permit. This is how to get one!

1. Prepare for your Theory Test

To prepare for your theory test you will need to visit the theorytest.ie website and download the official Driver Theory test learning app. Once you have completed the sample tests successfully and feel fully prepared it’s time to book in for your theory test.

2. Apply for your Theory Test

You can book in for your theory test by visiting the theorytest.ie website.

3. Apply for your Learner Permit

Once you have successfully passed the theory test (congratulations!) you now need to apply for your learner permit through the NDLS website.

4. Complete your Essential Driver Training Course

There are 12 mandatory Essential Driver Training modules to be completed and these are designed to teach basic fundamental driving skills to learners. It is important to note that these are only a part of the learning process. To become safe, confident and test ready, learners are likely to require additional lessons.

5. Apply for your Driving Test

Once you have completed your 12 EDT modules and you have held your first learner permit for at least 6 months, you can book in for you driving test by visiting the RSA website.

    FAQ’s

Q: Do I need a learner permit to start my lessons?

A: Yes, all details on how to obtain one are contained in the “Get Started” section of this website.

Q: How many lessons will I need?

A: There are a number of factors that will determine how many driving lessons you will need to become test ready. We would generally be in a position to give you an estimate after you have completed your first 2 hour lesson. On average we would recommend you have the funding in place to complete a minimum of 30 hours of training.

Q: I don’t live in your catchment area but would like to learn to drive with you, what do I do?

A: Lots of learners are not located within our area of operation so we arrange to pick them up and drop them off from an agreed location such as the dart station or bus stop. Call us to discuss.

Q: Do you facilitate training for those with learning difficulties?

A: Yes, we would encourage you to give us a call so we can discuss a tailored approach that will suit your learning style.

Q: I am currently training with another driving instructor and want to change what do I do?

A: No problem, there is no requirement for you complete the EDT programme or your driving lessons with one instructor. Just ensure that your log book has been stamped and is up to date before starting your driving lessons with us.

Q: I have a full licence from a country that does not have an exchange agreement in place with Ireland what should I do?

A: You may qualify for the EDT shortened programme which will reduce your 12 EDT modules from 12 down to 6. Visit the RSA website for further details.

Q: I have completed my EDT lessons can I apply for my test?

A: Yes, however if you are a first time learner permit holder you must have held your leaner permit for at least 6 months after the date of issue to sit your test.

Q: Can you deliver lessons in an automatic?

A: Yes but as we currently do not have an automatic training vehicle so we would need to carry out the lessons in your vehicle. Your vehicle must be taxed, insured and legally compliant.

Q: I just need a vehicle for the test can I book with you?

A: Yes however we will only authorise the use of the vehicle subject to an initial 2 hour assessment. The assessment does not guarantee we will authorise the vehicle for hire and must be taken prior to your test date.

Q: Can I book your vehicle for test hire other than Raheny Dublin 5.

A: Yes however you will need to give us a call to discuss the costs involved as our standard area for test hire is Raheny Dublin 5.
